During a typical day, you breathe almost 25,000 times. People with lung disease have trouble breathing. Millions of people in the U.S. have lung disease. If all kinds of lung disease are lumped together, it is the number three murderer in the United States.
The word lung disease refers to a lot of disorders affecting the lungs, such as asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, infections such as influenza, pneumonia and tuberculosis, lung cancer, and a lot of other breathing problems.
